I'm an obsessive baker, I love painting, arts & crafts, and other Do-It-Yourself home projects. I've been illustrating ever since I could first hold a crayon to paper, and I received my first cookbook as a Christmas gift when I was in the fourth grade!
I attended Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver for their Fine Arts program, and then attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond, where I received my Bachelor of Design (Graphic Design for Marketing). Then, after four years of work as an in-house Graphic Designer for an award-winning supplements brand, I decided to turn my "Lucie Bakes" venture into a full-time gig.
Between 2014 and 2016, I baked casually on and off, before finally creating my Instagram account in February 2017 - and I'm so happy I did! "Lucie Bakes" has definitely been my largest personal project to date! I have no employees or assistants, it's just me! At the beginning of 2019, I had the opportunity to go to Los Angeles and compete on the Food Network's holiday baking show, Christmas Cookie Challenge! My episode aired on November 25, 2019; the experience was the most fun I've ever had in my life, and winning the competition was just the cherry on top!
August 2022 marked a huge change in my life when my twin babies, Thomas & Evelyn, came into the world! For the next two-and-a-half years, they stayed home full-time with me while I ran my business and did freelance Graphic & Packaging Design for Canada's largest distributor of branded- and private-label candy, Huer Foods! And in February 2025, my third (and probably my last) baby, Charlie, arrived -- and my twins just love him!
